Fox TV network in the US has acquired the rights to an Israeli sitcom. After completing a successful pilot run, Fox announced that it will air an adaptation of the Israeli series ‘Ramzor’ (Hebrew for ‘Traffic Light’) in the fall. Fox acquired the rights to the series in the spring.

The US version will be written by Bob Fisher, who served as executive story editor for the ‘Married with Children’ sitcom. The lead role will be played by Nelson Franklin, who participated in ‘The Office’ and ‘Dollhouse.’

“When I read in the Hollywood Reporter about ‘Traffic Light by Adir Miller,’ I just can’t believe it,” said series co-creator and lead actor Adir Miller. The series is considered one of the most successful Israeli sitcoms.

“This is a huge achievement,” said an Israeli industry source, mentioning that while this is not the first Israeli series to be sold to the US, it’s the first to be sold to a major network.

In an interview with Israeli website Ynet, Miller said, “In my wildest dreams I never believed that this small series which we created in a small apartment in Givatayim would be aired on the most successful network in the United States.”
