Apple has updated its Apple Leadership press page to include bios of five new vice presidents, including Technion Institute grad Johny Srouji. Srouji, who serves as vice president of Hardware Technologies at Apple, earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Computer Science from the Technion.

According to a report in Calcalist, Srouji defines himself as an “Arab Israeli but above all a resident of Haifa.”

He joined Apple in 2008 to lead development of Apple’s first custom system on a chip (SOC) processor, the A4. Srouji is responsible for “oversight and delivery of breakthrough custom silicon and hardware technologies including application processors, storage controllers, touch and sensors, display silicon, connectivity, and other chipsets powering many of Apple’s industry-leading devices,” reads the press bio.

Srouji reports directly to CEO Tim Cook.
