The world looked on as America’s celebrity couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West chose the St. James Cathedral, a 12th century Armenian church in Jerusalem, as the place to baptize their daughter, North. The reality star/rapper’s whirlwind visit to Israel comes after a five-day visit to Armenia, homeland of Kardashian’s ancestors.

“Kim Kardashian’s daughter will be baptized and become a Christian officially and a member of the Armenian church,” Archbishop Aris Shirvanian, an Armenian church official, told AP, just before the ceremony. “All I know is that she’s a famous personality. I don’t know her in person. In any case she is welcome with her family.”

North and her father dressed in matching white outfits for the ceremony.

Dozens of fans waited outside the Old City church to catch a glimpse of the famous family.

Kim’s sister, Khloe, was also in town for the baptism ceremony.

Times of Israel reported that Kanye offered a free, surprise concert at the Tower of David museum on Monday night but was turned down for technical reasons.  The popular singer performed a free show in Yerevan during his family’s five-day visit to Armenia last week.

Instead, the celebrity couple met Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat yesterday evening at a local restaurant.

Kardashian and Kanye — known by the moniker Kimye – visited the Church of the Holy Sepulcher early Tuesday.

Earlier reports suggested they would visit Jordan next but the famous family left Israel for France on Tuesday afternoon.
