The Fourth Annual Jerusalem Light Festival, the largest event of its kind, opened this week. For artists who express their vision in light, this is an opportunity to change the Old City’s visage with color, pattern, light and shadow.

Now in its fourth year, the event is now part of a prestigious list of light art festivals around the world, such as Lyon, Glasgow , Lisbon and others.

This year, the festival is hosting 12 internationally renowned artists., along with Israeli artists.

Photographers take note: In addition, the Festival of Light 2013 is holding a photo competition to be judged by Israel’s foremost professional photographers with cash prizes of NIS 2,000, NIS 3,000 and NIS 5,000.

The Jerusalem Light Festival takes place in the Old City of Jerusalem between June 5th-13th 2013, each evening between 8pm and midnight.
