A great weekend for Israeli windsurfing as Yoav Omer, Noy Drihan and Kfir Azulay won first place in their categories at the RS:X Youth World Windsurfing Championships in Poland.
Drihan won a double gold — the RS:X U17 and RS:X Youth Women — Windsurfing Championships categories. The Eilat native – just 15.5 years old –also took the crown at the European Youth Championships three weeks ago. She started windsurfing at age 10 and has been competing since age 11.
Omer won gold in the RS:X Youth Men category while Azulay won gold for the RS:X U17 Windsurfing Championships.
The Youth contest took place in Gdynia, often referred to as the sailing capital of Poland.
In other sports news, Inbal Pezaro won a silver medal at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Glasgow for the Women’s 200m Freestyle S5 race.Over 580 athletes from nearly 70 countries competed in the 2015 IPC Swimming World Championships, the seventh edition of the competition.
