Jul. 21 – Israeli start-up FasterWeb has raised several million dollars in its first round of fund raising from VC fund YL Ventures. The company develops technology to improve the internet surfing experience, helping users load web pages at between two to 10 times faster than normal. FasterWeb was set up less than a year ago by CEO Ofer Gadish, Ofir Ehrlich, Leonid Fainberg and Gil Shai. The company plans to use the financing round to continue developing its products and to launch the product. Two-year-old YL Ventures, a Dutch company, manages a fund of $15 million. It invests primarily in European and Israeli companies. Other companies in its portfolio include web analytics company ClickTale.
