Jun. 24 –  Israel ranks number seven in the world for broadband penetration according to a new report published by analyst firm Strategy Analytics. The survey found that 77 percent of Israeli households accessed the internet via broadband in 2008, compared to 95 percent of South Korean households. In the report, South Korea was ranked first in broadband penetration, followed by Singapore, where 88% of homes gain access to the web through broadband. Five of the top 10 countries are in Asia. The US came 20th in the ranking, with 60% penetration. The analyst firm expects that ranking to fall to 23rd place this year.
