Take a walk on the light side at Jerusalem’s light festival

It’s that time of year again when Jerusalem’s Old City is turned into a city of lights.
For eight days, starting today, the dark alleyways of the beautiful Old City will be illuminated by some of the world’s leading light artists.
This year, seven international artists worked with local counterparts to transform Jerusalem with a series of original light installations and sculptures.
This is the fifth year the city has staged the free festival, which runs every night except Friday, from 8pm to 11pm (and midnight on Saturday). Last year some 250,000 people visited the festival.
Visitors can follow several color-coded trails winding their way through the various quarters of the Old City, taking visitors from installation to installation. There’s also a lighting fair in Hurva Square, and a circus performance with flying acrobats and illuminations.
Check out our video to see what happened last year.
