Stormy seas in Tel Aviv

Photographer Elyssa Frank of MADEinISRAEL braved last week’s storm to document the waves at the Tel Aviv port.

There’s been a lot of talk about the unusually cold weather that covered the upper altitudes of our region in snow last week. But the areas nearer to the sea were also affected by the storm and the accompanying power outages, leaks and floods.

Photographer Elyssa Frank of MADEinISRAEL braved the elements last week and wandered down to the Tel Aviv port to document the storm at its height…

The waves raged for days…

Eventually, the storm began to clear…

But nothing, not even the lowest temperatures recorded in a century, could stop this surfer from catching a wave…

A week later, temperatures are rising and the sea is calm in time for a peaceful Sabbath.
