For most of the year, the Negev is a barren brown desert with few plants growing and wild expanses of nothing more than rock and sand.

In the winter, however, as the first rains irrigate the land, the Negev turns a beautiful vivid green, followed by red as the wild anemones grow.

This week’s photograph of the week is of fields in the Western Negev. The photo was taken by Doron Horowitz/Flash90.

If you’ve got a photograph you’d like to feature on ISRAEL21c please send it in high resolution to info@israel21c.org. Every week we will choose the best one to feature on our pages.
