The first winter storm usually hits later in the year, but this year Israel got an early soaking, raising hopes amongst many in the country, that this winter will be a rainier season than last.

It was a dramatic start to the winter – with a waterspout over Tel Aviv and enormous hailstorms causing serious damage in the north.
