No it isn’t Switzerland or Austria, it’s Israel. With heavy snowfalls earlier this month, ski fans are flocking to Mount Hermon in the Golan to take advantage of the snow.

The ski resort on the Hermon covers almost 600 acres and includes 10 chairlifts and cable cars and more than 40 kilometers of trails from novice level to competitive professional standard.

It’s the only ski resort in the world located inside a military area, and around 300,000 people pass through its gates every winter.

More snow was expected at the resort this week as a new storm blew into the country on Sunday.

The photograph, of the chairlifts that take visitors up the hill to the ski resort, was taken by Hadas Parush, Flash90.

If you’ve got a photograph you’d like to feature on ISRAEL21c please send it in high resolution to info@israel21c.org. Every week we will choose the best one to feature on our pages.
