pic of week bamboo f90
A team of mountain climbers were drafted in to work on a giant bamboo installation at the Billy Rose Art Garden at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem this month.

The art work was designed by American artists, Doug and Mike Starn, who are identical twins, and are famous for their large-scale installations, constructed from bamboo.

The installation in Jerusalem is made up of thousands of bamboo canes tied together with colored string.

The exhibition opens on June 10, and runs until October 1. Visitors will be able to enter the constructions, walk around, and even climb on the bamboo.

This week’s photograph is by Hadas Parush/Flash90.

If you’ve got a photograph you’d like to feature on ISRAEL21c please send it in high resolution to info@israel21c.org. Every week we will choose the best one to feature on our pages.
