Ashkelon_2015

Ashkelon National Park  on the southern Mediterranean coast boasts is a fascinating mix of old and new.

On the one hand, you’ll see remnants of ancient civilizations, including the earliest arch in the world, dating to approximately 1800 BCE. On the other, you’ll see Israeli campers, boaters, bathers and surfers enjoying all the beach has to offer.

This week’s photograph of the week, by ISRAEL21c Associate Editor Abigail Klein Leichman, captures a bit of yesterday and today.

If you’ve got a photograph you’d like to feature on ISRAEL21c please send it in high resolution toinfo@israel21c.org. Every week we will choose the best one to feature on our pages.
