“A surprise for many as this coastal city in the Middle East boasts of beaches with some of the most vibrant nightlife in the world,” the site reported.

Tel Aviv is also described by the internet news site as resembling “Miami with its high-end clubs, posh restaurants and affluent locals.”

Other sea-and-sun spots to make it into the Top Eight included Boracay, the Philippines; Ibiza, Spain; Zanzibar, Tanzania; Koh Phangan, Thailand; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Surfer’s Paradise, Australia and South Beach, Miami, USA.

This is only the latest feather in the cap for Tel Aviv. Israel’s non-stop city has also been called one of the world’s most creative cities, world’s best gay city, and one of Lonely Planet’s top three cities for 2010.
