Roman Catholic priests take part in a candle lit procession around the Stone of Anointing inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem during Easter celebrations.

Many Christians believe the Stone of Anointing, or Stone of Unction, is the place where Jesus Christ’s body was laid after being removed from the crucifix and prepared for burial.

Some 130,000 Jewish and Christian tourists were expected to visit Israel to celebrate Passover and Easter this year, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

Most Christian tourists visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre during their stay. The church, in the heart of the Old City of Jerusalem, has been an important Christian pilgrimage destination since at least the fourth century because of its connection to the resurrection of Jesus.
