Google is acquiring/hiring the Israeli security startup SlickLogin for its smart identification technology and will hire the developers as well. The Israeli startup is less than a year old, has yet to launch its product and has zero customers to date.

“Today we’re announcing that the SlickLogin team is joining Google, a company that shares our core beliefs that logging in should be easy instead of frustrating, and authentication should be effective without getting in the way,” the three founders write on their website. “Google was the first company to offer two-step verification to everyone, for free – and they’re working on some great ideas that will make the internet safer for everyone. We couldn`t be more excited to join their efforts.”

The deal is reportedly worth several million dollars but the official transaction details have not been released.

This is Google’s latest Israeli startup purchase, following LabPixies, Quicksee and Waze.

SlickLogin was founded by Or Zelig, Eran Galili and Ori Kabeli – all graduates of the IDF’s elite cyber security unit. The company first unveiled its technology — that allows websites to verify a user’s identity by using sound waves– at TechCrunch Disrupt last September and registered as a company in December.

The technology gives users a secure way to view websites by holding their mobile phone close to the computer they use.

SlickLogin is a graduate of the UpWest Labs Accelerator.

Zelig, Galili and Kabeli will now join Google’s development center.
