Elbit Systems is expected to unveil its new incubator at a special ceremony during the Innovation Un-Conference at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev on June 27, 2013. The one-day Un-Conference showcases the future of Israel’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and includes all the who’s who of the high-tech world including leading innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, and companies.
“As the most refreshing and unique event on the subject of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Negev, the Innovation Un-Conference serves to nurture the pioneering spirit of the Negev by offering high-tech entrepreneurs, researchers and students a dynamic opportunity to share ideas and creativity, while driving future technological initiatives,” says Dr. Orna Berry, EMC VP and head of their Israeli Centers of Excellence, “The groundbreaking research and academic excellence exhibited by Ben-Gurion University of the Negev – not to mention its continued efforts to promote the Negev as a fertile ground for fostering innovation and collaboration – make it an ideal home for the event.”
Over five hundred projects will be presented by students from the Faculty of Engineering Sciences and the Guilford Glazer Faculty of Business and Management.
“The event reflects the central role that BGU plays in stimulating entrepreneurship and innovation on the national level and, more importantly, on the regional level. It is structured as an un-conference – the agenda is created by the attendees. Anyone who wants to initiate a discussion on a topic can claim a time and a space,” said Prof. Dafna Schwartz, head of the Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship and Hi-Tech Management at the Guilford Glazer Faculty of Business and Management. “The event creates a platform for gathering and interaction between innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, students, policy makers – and this exchange of ideas and networking is a crucial component in stimulating innovation.”
