Ice cream with an Israeli flavor

Forget vanilla. When Israelis eat ice cream they want to taste some local flavors. Two scoops of hummus ice cream anyone?

Did you know that the average Israeli eats about 10 liters of ice cream per year? Of course there’s vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, or even Israeli Prime Minister, Bibi Netanyahu’s favorite flavor – pistachio.

But Israelis like to experiment too, with flavors unique to the Middle East — hummus ice cream, for example, made with chickpeas and topped with olive oil and pine nuts. Doesn’t it look delicious? Click on our video to find out.
