Tel Aviv holds the title of being a fashionable city. Now, for the first time since the 1980s, this city by the sea is set to host a fashion week dedicated to showcasing local collections to international media.

Tel Aviv Fashion Week will take place at the trendy Tahana (Station) quarter from November 21 to 23.

Italian designer Roberto Cavalli will open the event.

Some 100 foreign journalists and fashion editors will also be in attendance. As will fahion buyers from across the globe.

Tel Aviv Fashion Week comes on the heels of Holon Fashion Week, which attracted the likes of American super-designer Zac Posen and fashion writer/filmmaker Stephanie LaCava, in October.

The Tel Aviv happening will feature collections by Israeli designers Sasson Kedem, Dorit Bar-Or, Yaniv Parsi, Alon Livne, Alembika, Galit Levi, Doreen Frankfurt, Tovaleh, Yosef, Mira Zwillinger and Gottex.

Young designers will also be given the opportunity to strut the catwalk.
