Solel announces new 50MW solar field project in Spain Solel Solar Systems has begun construction on a 50 MW solar field in Lebrija, Spain, a $150 million project that utilizes Solel?s UVAC 2008 solar receivers, parabolic mirrors, collector assemblies and patented control systems to capture sunlight and convert it to heat for clean energy. In addition, Solel will provide project design, engineering and integration services. The Lebrija-1 project has an overall cost of $400 million and is being developed in partnership with Valoriza Energia, a subsidiary of leading Madrid-based construction company Sacyr Vallehermoso. Valoriza Energia will provide consortium with the power block, civil works, and auxiliary systems. Avi Brenmiller, Solel President and CEO stated yesterday at the Eilat Energy Conference, "Our reliable, bankable SunField LP equipment makes affordable solar energy a reality, and our projects, such as Lebrija-1, create hundreds of jobs." Lebrija-1 will be operational in 2010.
