Better Place officially launched its marketing campaign for electric cars for the general public today. Four months ago, the company put 250 cars on Israeli roads in a pre-launch that included company employees and select customers.

The electric car infrastructure company founded by Shai Agassi says it will sell 4,000 cars in its first full year of operations in Israel.

The company is offering a Renault Fluence ZE electric car with a manufacturer’s warranty for four years or 120,000 kilometers.

Better Place initially offered kilometer packages and is now offering pay-as-you-go options, according to a Globes report.

Better Place believes that half of its purchaser base in the coming year will be private customers.
