Founded as a family business in Israel, Sabon has grown to become an international chain of specialty stores for soap and other personal care products.

They may have originated in Israel, but today Sabon soap stores are doing brisk business in the US, Canada and Europe as well.

Set up as a specialty store offering soaps and personal care products, the Israeli founders Avi and Segal were amazed by the devoted reaction of the Israeli public to their wares, and soon realized that they were on to something. The single store grew into a chain, first in Israel and now worldwide.

Sabon in New York offers customers a respite from the busy city.

In New York alone there are 11 Sabon stores, offering passersby a respite from their busy day, a place to relax and try out pampering products – and the possibility of taking that experience home, in the form of the soaps, lotions and more.

Starting out as a family enterprise, Sabon has managed to grow into an international chain without losing its intimate, earthy spirit.

Company CEO Moran David says the store has branched out through franchises, with people “falling in love with the products and wanting to open their own stores.”

Sabon has an informal style of working with its employees. “We encourage everyone to have fun working and have fun with the customers,” says David.
